The House of Peace provides food, clothing and other assistance to individuals and families.
An open door serving people experiencing homelessness and hunger since 1968.
Volunteers are key to Capuchin Community Services and the outreach at the House of Peace and St. Ben’s Community Meal. You or your organization can get involved today by searching for an available volunteer opportunity.
Volunteer with Capuchin Community ServicesIn-kind donations of clean and gently used clothing, unexpired nonperishables or other items are welcome. Unlike some other non-profits, donated items are not re-sold. They go directly to those who need them most.

For many of our Milwaukee neighbors, every day is a struggle. Winter brings extra hardships. You can make a difference and help our neighbors keep warm this winter by donating new or gently-used warm winter gear: blankets, coats, hats, scarves, mittens, boots, etc.

Until temperatures rise, our 24 Hour Warming Center at St. Ben`s will now remain open beyond Sunday, January 25.
We could use your help! With our guests on-site 24 hours, we are in need of more grab-and-go snack foods. Generous donations of individually wrapped breakfast bars, granola bars, bananas, apples, peanut butter/cheese crackers, or bags of chips, would go a long way in helping keep our guests comfortable during their stay. We make these snacks available throughout the day and we`re running through them quickly!

If you need a safe, warm place to rest during the cold winter months, St. Ben’s Warming Center is open and ready to welcome you.
🕓 Hours:
Open overnight from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., every day during the winter season (typically November through March).
📍 Location:
St. Ben’s Community Meal – 930 W State St, Milwaukee, WI 53233
The Warming Center is open to any adult in need of shelter, regardless of background, faith, or circumstance.
